NOTICE: Roadside W**d Spraying

Bruce County is spraying select rural roadsides to control noxious and invasive w**ds that can pose risks to people, livestock and agricultural land.

Bruce County will be spraying select rural roadsides (weather permitting) to control noxious and invasive w**ds: Bruce Road 1, 2, 3, 4, 6, 6E, 7, 12, 15, 19, 20, 22, 23, 28 and 86.

Our contractor, Greenstream, will apply herbicides along select Bruce County rural roadsides as part of our vegetation management program.

In Ontario, this work falls under the Public Works Exception of Ontario’s Cosmetics Pesticides Ban. It is carried out to protect public health and safety. Noxious w**ds can pose risks to people, livestock and agricultural land.

Spraying is only on unmaintained ditches, not on yards or ditches which property owners are maintaining. Property owners may opt out.

Local municipalities and the province may also be spraying w**ds on roads which they maintain. Please check with them for information about their w**d control practices.
