❗Public Advisory – Rising Water Levels ❗

Heavy rainfall across the region is causing water levels to rise in local creeks and rivers, including the Little Bow River and the Bow River. Up to 100 mm of rain, with higher localized amounts possible, is expected through Wednesday morning.

Please use caution:
⚠️Stay away from creeks, rivers, and low-lying areas
⚠️Do not drive through flooded or washed-out roads
⚠️Monitor water levels near your property, especially in low-lying areas or near watercourses

Vulcan County Regional Emergency Management Partnership is closely monitoring forecasts from the Alberta River Forecast Centre. At this time, there is no Flood Warning in effect for Vulcan County, but conditions may change quickly.

❗Alberta farmers and ranchers — the M.D. of Wainwright wants your feedback!

A short 10-question survey is now open to gather input on the importance of veterinary services to agricultural productivity, animal health, and business viability in rural Alberta. The results may help support advocacy efforts to include veterinarians in the Canada Student Loan Forgiveness Program.

The survey is open until June 30.

🏥 May 25–29 is Alberta Rural Health Week in Vulcan County! 💙

This week, we recognize and celebrate the rural healthcare professionals and community volunteers who help bring care closer to home for our residents.

From doctors, nurses, EMS staff, and support teams to local attraction and retention committees and volunteers, these individuals play an essential role in keeping our communities healthy, connected, and resilient. Their impact reaches far beyond healthcare — they are neighbors, mentors, leaders, and advocates for rural life.

Vulcan County Council is proud to proclaim May 25–29, 2026 as Alberta Rural Health Week and encourages all residents to show appreciation for the people whose dedication strengthens rural healthcare across our region.
