WHO WE SERVE - Victim Services supports victims of crime and trauma including family members and witnesses. Highly trained staff provide emotional and practical crisis support plus ongoing support services including information on your police file, police procedures, the court system, referrals to community supports, assistance with Crime Victim Assistance applications and Victim Impact Statements.

Jessica Wolf Ortiz is a Registered Clinical Counsellor with more than 20 years of experience and the author of Overcoming Su***de Bereavement: The Stories of Those Left Behind. She brings both professional expertise and personal understanding to her work supporting individuals and families affected by su***de loss.

Brad Martin, BCBH Board President and Registered Therapeutic Counsellor, draws on his background in law enforcement and therapeutic practice to guide those navigating traumatic loss with empathy and care.

Together, they offer lived experience, compassion, and professional insight into the healing process that follows su***de loss.

Want to meet me (ACE) and Sparky? Come to the Saanich Fire Department and Saanich Police Station for the Open house September 13th, 2025 from 10:00am-2:00pm.

Join the fun!
Take part in games, live demonstrations and giveaways the departments have planned. Visitors can:

-Meet our fire fighters and police officers.
-Ride in the Saanich Emergency Program's Quake Cottage.
-Watch demonstrations for:
grease fires.
fire dispatch communications.
auto extrication and high angle rescue.
-Tour Fire and Police vehicles.
-Take part in the fire hose spray station.
-Learn more about the day-to-day work of Saanich Police Officers who are part of the Bike Squad, Canine Unit, Dive Unit, and Forensics Team.
-Goof around in the bouncy castle and at the face painting stations.

Parking for the event is available at the Saanich Municipal Hall.
