Let's shell-ebrate a record-breaking Summer Reading Club! 🐚📚

With more than 10,000 young readers taking part across Greater Victoria, this year's program officially wrapped up today.

If your child has not yet collected their prize, bring their reading record to the library to claim an eligible prize. Prize quantities are limited and available on a first-come, first-served basis while supplies last.

GVPL is recruiting members for its new Accessibility Advisory Committee. Applications are open until September 30.

The Committee will help identify and address barriers to accessibility so that library services, spaces, and experiences are welcoming and accessible for everyone.

We welcome applications from people with diverse backgrounds and experiences, particularly those with lived experience of disability or knowledge in accessibility.

Today, we join countless others in remembering Dolly Parton.

For many, Dolly was known for her iconic songs and unforgettable performances. For millions of children and families, she was also a passionate advocate for literacy who believed every child deserved a book of their own.

Through Dolly Parton's Imagination Library, a free program that mails books each month to children from birth to age five, she helped foster a love of reading in young readers around the world.

That legacy lives on across Canada by helping make books more accessible to children and families. Here in our communities, it continues through the Imagination Library of Greater Victoria.
