Hey guys! Come check out the astronomy open house tonight, where we will be getting a special virtual tour and demo from SLOOH’s chief astronomical officer Paul Cox!
Please contact one of the executives of this group if you need a link to the Zoom meeting.
Hello everyone,
Tomorrow evening, we are pleased to welcome Paul Cox, chief astronomical officer of the SLOOH observatories on the Canary Islands and Chile, to give us a demo tour of SLOOH’s seven robotic telescopes!🔭 SLOOH is the first to provide a live viewing through a telescope via the web. Fun fact - the name ‘SLOOH’ comes from the words ‘slew’ and ‘ooh!’ to indicate the movement of a telescope and to express surprise, respectively.
As per our regular schedule, the Zoom meeting will begin at 7:30pm PST with some general science discussion. The presentation starts at 7:45 and runs until around 8:45. Q&A runs until 9pm after the presentation.
The Zoom link is the same as the one we used last term. Feel free to contact [email protected] if you need more info.
We hope to see you there!💫
