British Columbians can now take the knowledge test required for their Class 5–8 passenger vehicle and motorcycle Learner’s licence online — from the comfort of home.

This new option makes it easier to access testing, especially for people who have difficulty getting to an office. It will also help reduce wait times at driver licensing locations across BC.

• Same test as in-person
• Available in 12 languages
• Secure, with monitoring to protect test integrity

Prefer to test in person? In-office testing is still available.

After passing online, you’ll still need to visit a driver licensing office, Driver Licensing Agent or Service BC location for a vision test, photo, and to get your learner’s licence issued.

British Columbia is stepping onto the world stage this month as Vancouver hosts the FIFA World Cup 2026™, the largest single-sport event on the planet.

It’s an exciting moment to showcase everything that makes BC special, from our breathtaking landscapes to our vibrant and diverse communities, and the creativity and innovation that define us.

This is more than just a sporting event. It’s our moment to welcome visitors from around the world, support local jobs, and attract new investments that will benefit people throughout BC for years to come.

BC was the first in Canada to provide free prescription birth control to all residents. Three years later, the results are clear.

A new UBC study found that:
• Patient spending is down by 83%
• Young adults saw the biggest savings
• More people are accessing the most effective forms of birth control, including IUDs and implants

Across BC, expanded services and broader coverage are helping more women and gender-diverse people access the care they need:
• Self-screening option for cervical cancer
• Funding for in-vitro fertilization
• Free menopausal hormone therapy
• New Complex Menopause Clinic, the first of its kind in Western Canada

This work supports choice, autonomy and better health outcomes in BC.

This summer could be hotter and drier than usual, which will put pressure on our water supply.

BC is planning ahead - working with First Nations, local governments, industry and farmers to prepare and respond to water scarcity.

You can help too. Please use water wisely and follow local water restrictions.

For every dollar men earned in 2025, women earned 85.5 cents. That's up from 81.6 cents in 2022. Pay transparency, along with childcare expansion and minimum wage increases help in narrowing the gender pay gap.

Over 80% of job postings in BC now include pay information, and this year more employers will be required to post pay transparency reports.

BC habitats impacted by wildfires will soon be reforested with new seedlings, shrubs, herbs and other native plants. Planting 125 million more trees helps support species at risk, builds resilience to climate change, and supports communities throughout the province.

Renters in BC are starting to see real relief, with lower asking rents and more choices opening up.

Here's how that's showing up for renters:
• Asking rents across BC are down by 12.5% compared to 2023, helping renters save an average of $4,000 per year — the largest declines of any province
• More than 26,000 purpose-built rental units were registered in 2025, far above the 2,500 annually a decade ago
• Thousands of short-term rental homes are returning to long-term rental market, helping ease pressure in high-demand communities

We know rents are still too high for too many people. But this progress shows what’s possible when we build more homes and free up existing ones. We’ll keep working to increase supply, reduce the cost of delivering housing, and make renting more affordable across BC.

National Indigenous History Month is a time to learn, reflect and take action.
Since time immemorial, Indigenous Peoples have lived on and cared for the lands we now know as British Columbia. Today, the province is home to more than 200 First Nations, each with distinct languages, cultures and ways of knowing.

We also recognize the rich cultures of Métis and Inuit peoples.

This month, we reflect on the ongoing work of reconciliation and recognize the strength and resilience of Indigenous Peoples. https://declaration.gov.bc.ca/
