📢 World Marketing Day 2026 📢
Today, on World Marketing Day, we celebrate the power of storytelling, connection, and purpose-driven communication.
Marketing isn't just about promoting products or services—it's about building bridges, raising awareness, and creating meaningful connections that drive positive change in our communities.
At the John Howard Society of Victoria, our marketing is rooted in our mission: to create safe, healthy, and inclusive communities for all. Every message we share, every story we tell, and every connection we make is grounded in our core values of Dignity, Advocacy, Empowerment, Collaboration, Accountability, and Resiliency.
How We Use Marketing to Make a Difference:
🎯 Raising Awareness: We use our platforms to shine a light on issues that matter—mental health, accessibility, housing instability, employment barriers, and justice system involvement. Our goal is to educate, inform, and inspire action.
🤝 Building Community: Social media allows us to build community, start conversations, and share stories of resilience, hope, and transformation. We meet people where they are—online and in person—creating spaces for dialogue and connection.
💙 Advocacy & Social Justice: Our communications advocate for those facing barriers, challenge stigma, and promote inclusion. We believe marketing can be a powerful tool for social change when it's ethical, inclusive, and community-centered.
📖 Impactful Storytelling: We share the real stories of programs, services, and the individuals we support (always with consent and respect for privacy). Through visual content, short videos, and authentic narratives, we demonstrate the tangible impact of community support.
🌍 Inclusive & Respectful Communication: Our content is created with care—respectful of all cultural groups, free from stigmatizing language, and designed to honor the dignity of every person we serve. We don't use phrases that classify or stigmatize—instead, we use person-centered language that empowers.
🔗 Connecting People to Resources: Marketing helps us connect individuals with the support they need—whether it's employment programs, housing assistance, mental health navigation, or community services. Every post has the potential to change a life.
Marketing with Purpose
For us, marketing is more than visibility—it's about values-driven communication that aligns with who we are and what we stand for.
This World Marketing Day, we celebrate the power of ethical, community-centered marketing to drive awareness, connection, and positive social change.
Because when marketing is done with purpose, dignity, and heart—everyone benefits.
