Food insecurity continues to affect far too many people across Canada. Recent estimates suggest that nearly one in four Canadians live in households that struggle to afford enough food, including working families, seniors, people with disabilities, and children.
A recent pre-budget submission from Right To Food brings together recommendations from more than 150 community organizations and Indigenous partners. The report highlights several ideas for reducing food insecurity, including strengthening income supports, expanding disability benefits, and investing in Indigenous food sovereignty.
