Meet our growing team at the Social Planning Council for the North Okanagan!

We're excited to introduce you to the people behind the work happening in our community:
✨ Roger – Executive Director
✨ Amanda – Co-LIP Coordinator
✨ Naaz – Co-LIP Coordinator

This week also allowed us to connect as a team while attending the White Elephant Conference in Penticton on Monday.

A sincere thank you to our colleagues at SOICS for hosting and creating space for difficult but meaningful conversations. We appreciated the opportunity to engage in a discussion that challenged us, strengthened our learning, and reminded us of the importance of creating communities where everyone feels seen, heard and included 💜

Today on Moose Hide Campaign Day we recognize that gender-based violence continues to impact individuals in Canada every single day including here in our own communities

At SPCNO we believe conversations about violence cannot stop at awareness. Preventing violence requires accountability, challenging harmful norms, supporting survivors and not re-traumatizing them, and addressing the systemic inequities that allow violence to continue.

The Moose Hide Campaign, founded and led by Indigenous leaders, is a call to action for all us to reflect on how we can contribute to safer communities through our actions, relations, and systems.

Today is not just about wearing a pin. Its about ongoing commitment rooted in respect, safety and collective responsibility.
