As your schedule gets fuller with the Christmas holiday celebrations ours does too. So please be aware that we have changed our open hours on Wednesday, Dec. 14 and 21. The library will be open both those days from 2-5pm. We hope you will stop in and see us then. Remember that the new Quick Reads will be available on Dec. 21.

We are so thankful for all the support we have received while dreaming of and replacing the front door. It is exciting to share that not only is the new door installed but the new back door is as well, along with our book return slot. Now that the building is much more weather proof you can enjoy stopping by to check out our materials and returning them too!

We are excited to announce that our new front door has arrived! Because it happened so quickly, we have not had a chance to make a new book return slot. We do not want to inconvenience you so we have set up our library items return cart across the street at the Vanguard Post Office. The cart is inside the service desk area where all the beautiful plants are in the window. You will only be able to access that during the Post Office's open hours (8am - 12pm and 12:30-4:30pm). We do hope that you will stop by sometime soon and enjoy our new front door!

This week at the Vanguard Library we will be having a fun program for kids on Thursday, July 14 from 10:30 until 11:30am. You're welcome to drop in and see what kind of music you can make with a banana and other unusual items. Children under 12 need an adult to accompany them. Hope to see you there!

The TD Summer Story Walk "Sometimes I Feel Like a Fox" is up and ready to be enjoyed! How can you check it out? Our walk begins at the Vanguard Co-op where you can stop in and pick up a questionnaire to enhance the experience. There is a listing of places on the back of the form to direct you along the walk. If you complete the form and slide it in the library door book slot or drop it off during our open hours, you will be entered in a draw for a candy bag.
In case there is any confusion the list of places taking part in our walk are:

3. Vanguard Post Office
4. Kehoe Agencies
5. Village of Vanguard Office

Thank you to each place for supporting the TD Summer Reading Walk and sharing a little of your window space for the next few weeks! (The story walk will be available until Monday, July 25)
