🏃 WE'RE IN THE FINAL 3-WEEK COUNTDOWN! 🏃

On Sunday, September 27, PHS Community Services Society will be hitting the streets for the Under Armour Eastside 10K as one of the event's six charity partners.

We're raising funds to move our Food Program out of a kitchen designed to produce only 200 meals a day into a purpose-built kitchen that can accommodate the 3,900 nutritious meals we’re currently producing, and allowing us to grow our program to help thousands of vulnerable people that often don’t have access to kitchens or cold storage and require healthy ready-made meals.

💜 Goal: $30,000
💜 Raised: over $11,000
💜 Still needed: $19,000
💜 62% left to reach our goal

August 31 is International Overdose Awareness Day.

Please join us in adding a splash of purple to your spaces in remembrance of the 18,000+ lives lost to B.C.’s toxic drug crisis.

Overdose prevention sites (OPS) are a critical part of the response to the toxic drug crisis. They help prevent overdose deaths, connect people to health and social services, and reduce harms in our communities.

Without OPS, more people use drugs alone, overdoses go unnoticed, and emergency services face increased demand.

Recovery and treatment programs matter—but so do the services that help people survive long enough to access them.

Let's continue supporting evidence-based approaches that save lives and strengthen communities.

Learn why closing OPS are a bad idea: August 31 is International Overdose Awareness Day.

🍽️ A meal can mean so much more than food.

PHS shelters provide 165 beds and a daily meal program for guests living in extreme poverty.

Many guests do not have access to a kitchen or a place to safely store food. That's why our food program is such an important part of daily shelter services. Whether it's a hot meal or a bagged lunch to go, we're helping ensure people have access to nutritious food when they need it most.

"I am grateful for the Lunch Program because in the day I am always busy running around and having a lunch ready in my bag is very helpful. I don't have to worry about finding something to eat or think about being broke. Plus, the lunches are really good!" - Candice, New Fountain shelter guest

Food is more than nutrition. It's dignity, comfort, and support during challenging times.

Help us unlock $500K matching grant to support the expansion of PHS’s Vancouver Food Program, or join the PHS Run Team in the Under Armour Eastside 10K to help us reach our $30K fundraising goal. All proceeds raised will be used to help us open a new purpose-built kitchen to serve daily nutritious meals to marginalized communities that depend on us.

Meet one of our youngest supporters! 💙

This weekend, Jennifer and her toddler were out raising donations for the PHS Run Team ahead of the Under Armour Eastside 10K on September 27, 2026.

PHS Community Services Society is proud to be one of six charities supported through the Eastside 10K, and we're working hard to reach our $30,000 fundraising goal. With your help, we can unlock a much larger $500,000 matching grant from the AI Roadburg Foundation.

With your support, we are raising funds to build a purpose-built kitchen for our Vancouver Food Program. Every day, the program provides healthy meals to more than 3,900 residents, shelter guests, and program participants who rely on our housing and supports.

The reality is that people living in extreme poverty in the Downtown Eastside don’t have access to a kitchen or cold storage, yet alone funds to purchase a meal.

Together, we can help ensure everyone has access to nutritious meals.

🏃‍♀️ Join the team. 💙 Donate today. 🍽️ Help build a healthier community.

Help us reach our 30K goal!

The PHS Run Team is raising $30,000 through the 2026 Under Armour Eastside 10K to support the expansion of the PHS Vancouver Food Program.

✅ Goal: $30,000
✅ Raised so far: $6,749

PHS serves over 3,900 meals every day to people experiencing homelessness, poverty, and other complex challenges. Rising food costs are increasing demand, and every donation helps keep meals on the table for those who need them most. This program is vital for people who don’t have access to a kitchen or cold storage.

Please consider donating and sharing this post to help us reach our goal. ❤️

🧦✨ A huge thank you to Sock Rocket !
For the last three years, they’ve donated thousands of pairs of socks to support people accessing PHS shelters and services. Something as simple as clean, dry socks can have a big impact for community members facing housing insecurity and spending time outdoors. Socks help improve comfort, dignity, and foot health.
We’re so grateful for Sock Rocket’s continued generosity and partnership in helping provide this essential everyday necessity. 💙
