This past May, Vote 16 B.C. had the opportunity to participate in Canada’s first ever national Vote 16 Summit, which was held on parliament hill in Ottawa. Here, our co-leads spoke on the importance of lowering the voting age to 16 and our journey so far.

Young people have the most at stake — but the least power to influence political decisions. With huge public support for the change, it’s time for the BC govt to act and make youth a priority.

Hello Everyone! We will be having a new Volunteer orientation TODAY, Friday, February 25th @ 5:30PM PST via zoom. Scan the QR code or click the link in our bio to join the meeting this afternoon!

Join our campaign to advocate for lowering the voting age in BC, or simply to gain information about the campaign, it’s moto, and ways to contribute.
This is an incredible opportunity for youth who are looking for opportunities to work cooperatively with like minded peers and gain leadership experience.

We are rising

We are at an extraordinary point in time -- youth around the world are raising their voices and standing up for change. From the March for our Lives to Scotland’s campaign to lower the voting age to the Sunrise Movement, youth are taking their future into their own hands.

It makes sense. We are facing a pretty bleak fate. And, under our current democratic system, we have limited recourse and access to power.

We need bold political action to solve the big problems that the world is facing today. Youth are more educated, engaged, and impassioned that ever. But, politicians only do what will win them enough votes to keep their job. So, the solution is that we need 100,000 new voters -- youth-- to join the political system and demand big and brave action on the issues that impact our lives.

The world is changing, and so must we.
