The Spark

The Spark is UBC Sauder’s very own orientation program which welcomes all new students to the school.

The Spark is your welcome to the UBC Sauder community and a key part of the Sauder experience. This year we are planning to deliver a fun and safe in-person experience for students. Saturday, September 11 will be for all students new to campus entering Year 2 or higher (students admitted to Year 1, 2, or 3 in 2020 and students admitted to Year 2 or 3 in 2021), and Sunday, September 12 will be for

all new students entering Year 1 (students admitted to Year 1 in 2021). Programming will be hosted in small groups and safety measures will follow the Provincial Health Guidelines but you can still expect the classic cheering, dancing, and games Spark experience to help you make friends and feel part of the UBC Sauder community. 🤩 ꜱᴘᴀʀᴋɪᴇꜱ ɢɪᴠᴇ ʙᴀᴄᴋ 🤩

SPARK collaborated with two Student Leaders to design and create exclusive merch you’ll receive at 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗦𝗽𝗮𝗿𝗸! 🚀

Earlier this year, we held a tote bag design contest, won by 𝗘𝘃𝗲𝗹𝘆𝗻 𝗛𝗼𝗹𝗺𝗲𝘀 Evelyn Holmes 🖌️

With the help of 𝗧𝗮𝗵𝗮 Taha and his company Merch Project, we were able to bring the design to life through manufacturing and printing! 🏭

Only a limited number of tote bags were produced — 𝗲𝘅𝗰𝗹𝘂𝘀𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝘁𝗼 𝗦𝗽𝗮𝗿𝗸 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲 attendees 👀

Our Spark volunteers had an 𝘶𝘯𝘧𝘰𝘳𝘨𝘦𝘵𝘵𝘢𝘣𝘭𝘦 𝘯𝘪𝘨𝘩𝘵 at the 𝗥𝗶𝗰𝗵𝗺𝗼𝗻𝗱 𝗡𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁 𝗠𝗮𝗿𝗸𝗲𝘁 🌌✨ From trying new foods to taking on the Zipline, the team had a great time building community together! 🫂
