🎶 ASEAN Musical Appreciation Night 2026 🎶

The Consulate General of the Republic of Indonesia in Vancouver was pleased to participate in the ASEAN Musical Appreciation Night hosted by the Philippine Consulate General in Vancouver, Chair of the ASEAN Consuls General in Vancouver (ACGV) for January–June 2026.

Held on 26 May 2026, the event brought together ASEAN Consuls General, diplomatic staff, and their families for an evening celebrating the rich cultural diversity of Southeast Asia through music and fellowship. Participants enjoyed performances of songs from ASEAN member states, a lively karaoke session, and a potluck featuring traditional dishes from across the region.

The event reflected ASEAN’s commitment to strengthening people-to-people connections and promoting mutual understanding through culture and the arts, in line with the spirit of “One Vision, One Identity, One Community.”

📢 PENGUMUMAN

Pemerintah Kanada telah mengumumkan perubahan kebijakan perjalanan bagi Warga Negara Indonesia (WNI) yang memenuhi persyaratan tertentu untuk mengajukan Electronic Travel Authorization (eTA) sebagai alternatif visa kunjungan Kanada (Temporary Resident Visa/TRV) untuk perjalanan udara ke Kanada.

WNI dapat mengajukan eTA apabila:
✅ Pernah memiliki visa kunjungan Kanada (TRV) dalam 10 tahun terakhir; atau
✅ Memiliki visa non-imigran Amerika Serikat yang masih berlaku;
✈️ Serta melakukan perjalanan atau transit ke Kanada melalui jalur udara.

⚠️ Perlu diperhatikan:
• Kebijakan ini tidak berlaku bagi seluruh WNI;
• WNI yang tidak memenuhi persyaratan di atas tetap wajib mengajukan visa kunjungan Kanada (TRV);
• eTA hanya berlaku untuk perjalanan udara dan tidak menjamin izin masuk ke Kanada. Keputusan akhir tetap berada pada otoritas perbatasan Kanada.

The Consulate General of the Republic of Indonesia in Vancouver was honoured to host Dr. Zuhal Kuvan-Mills and the delegation of Eco Fashion Week Australia at a Dinner Reception on 07 May 2026, and subsequently participated in the “Eco Fashion Week Australia: Handmade for the Earth Fashion Show” held at the Vancouver Public Library on 09 May 2026.

These engagements reflected the spirit of friendship, cultural exchange, and international collaboration through sustainable fashion and cultural diplomacy among Indonesia, Australia, and Canada.

The “Handmade for the Earth” fashion show represents a pioneering initiative that brings together the rich textile heritage of Central Sulawesi and contemporary eco-conscious design, while empowering women artisans and supporting inclusive green economies. Presented across Vancouver, Palu, and Perth, the initiative introduces Indonesia’s endangered heritage textiles to broader international audiences and highlights the enduring relevance of traditional craftsmanship in sustainable fashion.

The Consulate General sincerely appreciates Eco Fashion Week Australia for its continued dedication to promoting Indonesian culture, sustainability, ethical fashion, and women’s empowerment through meaningful international collaboration.
