Dear Community Members,
We are excited to share that M’akola Housing Society, an Indigenous housing provider, has recently opened an affordable housing development in the River District. M’akola Housing Society is dedicated to providing safe and affordable housing for Indigenous individuals, couples, families, and elders. This building has 220 homes for tenants with low to moderate incomes.
The newly launched project offers a variety of unit including
Studio units
One-bedroom units
Two-bedroom units
Three-bedroom units
Rental Options:
Low-End-of-Market Units:
Two-bedroom units starting at $2,550/month yearly household income must be over $66,000 and under 134,000.
Three-bedroom units starting at $2,800/month yearly household income must be over $79,000 and under $134,000.
To be eligible for low end of market units you must have at least one dependent under 19 years of age for two bedrooms and at least two dependents for three bedroom. Please contact us at [email protected]. When reaching out please mention that you are a member of Musqueam.
Rent-Geared-to-Income (RGI) Units:
For RGI units rent is based on 30% of household income.
To qualify for an RGI unit or Studio units, you must be on the BC Housing Registry.
Shelter Rate Studio Units at $500
Shelter rate units are a flat rent of $500
To qualify for Shelter Rate Unit you must be on the BC Housing Registry.
