Congratulations to WO1 Bosco Wong for successfully completing and aging out of the cadet program. WO1 Wong has dedicated himself to the program for many years and has established himself as an outstanding cadet through his leadership.
His impressive career saw him involved in many aspects the program has to offer. Over the years, he has been apart of the Band, Range Team, Drill Team, Ground School, and several sports teams. Through these teams and other activities, he received his Music Proficiency, Marksmanship, and Standard First Aid Qualifications. He was also accepted into the Glider Pilot Training Course in 2023. Outside of the squadron, he participated in and ran many ADA’s, ranging from NCO workshops to Field Training Exercises to special events like the Invictus Games Opening Ceremony.
WO1 Wong took advantage of summer training, attending every year he was able to. In 2019, he attended General Training at Albert Head CTC and was recognized as the Top Cadet in his flight. In 2021, he attended the Military Band Musician - Intermediate Course on Virtual CTC. In 2022, he attended the Fitness and Sports Instructor Course at Vernon CTC. He then returned to Vernon CTC as a staff cadet as part of the Fitness and Sports Department, where he was awarded the Blayne Materi Memorial Citizenship Award and the Order of St. George Medal in 2023 and 2024, respectively. To top it all off, he went to HMCS Quadra in 2025 as a staff cadet and was appointed as the Chief of Seamanship, SBO, & Music. Not only was he awarded the Canada Company Bursary, but he received his SCOP 1, 2, 3, and 5 Module Qualifications.
WO1 Wong consistently displayed high standards of dress, drill, and deportment, serving as a role-model for many cadets. During his time on the Cadet Command Team, he led the squadron with confidence, charm, and care, playing a significant role in keeping the squadron running after COVID-19.
We would like to thank WO1 Wong for his tremendous contributions and efforts to the squadron and the cadet program. We wish you the best of luck and we look forward to seeing your continued contributions to the program in the future!
