We support multiculturalism in Canada and the two official languages (English and French) The Lebanese Canadian Society is British Columbia’s longest Lebanese running social club dating back to 1912. Originally founded by early Lebanese settlers in 1912 as the “Lebanese Club in Vancouver,” the organization carried forth in 1965 officially as “The Lebanese Canadian Society of British Columbia” bec
oming the largest Lebanese organization in British Columbia. This society is a non-religious and non-political organization. The Lebanese Canadian Society has dedicated over 50 years to promoting and fostering the Lebanese culture through events, initiatives, and endeavours. The objective of the Society is as follows:
• To establish ties of loyalty and mutual respect between its members and the people of Canada, and to contribute to the development and progress of this country.
• To provide the opportunity for members to gather in fellowship together, primarily on a social basis.
• To strengthen the ties between its members and people of Lebanon.
• To foster the Lebanese cultural heritage among its members and British Columbia.
• To welcome and when deemed necessary to render assistance in establishing the residency of Lebanese immigrants in British Columbia.
• To create and foster a spirit of understanding among the members of the Society.
• To promote the principles of good government and good citizenship.
• To unite the Society members in bands of friendship and mutual understanding.
• To encourage Society members to serve their community without personal financial rewards and to encourage efficiency and promote high ethical standards in commerce, industry, profession, public works, and private endeavors.
