On Thursday, December 18, we enjoyed a lovely evening at our annual Holiday Mess Dinner. The event held cadets, staff, and parents together in the spirit of camaraderie, while enjoying delicious food. In tradition, we observed the remembrance of the fallen by serving food at their table and passing the port to give toasts.

Many thanks to the parent support committee for their hard work in planning and supporting this event.

Happy Holidays, and see you all in the next year!

Thursday, November 27, 2025, we proudly promoted our senior cadets to the ranks of Warrant Officer, Master Warrant Officer, and Chief Warrant Officer. These positions come with greater responsibilities like organizing the corps, leading by example, and guiding others with confidence. Each cadet has shown incredible dedication, time, and commitment to earn these roles, and they truly deserve this recognition.

Congratulations to our newly promoted senior cadets!

On Thursday, November 27, 2025, we proudly awarded fitness badges to our cadets for their incredible effort and determination. This month, they took on the Cadet Fitness Assessment, testing strength, endurance, and resilience. Each badge: Bronze, Silver, and Excellence represents a milestone of hard work and commitment. Congratulations to every cadet who rose to the challenge and achieved their goals!

From October 31 to November 2, army cadets from 2290 participated in a field training exercise at Deas Island Regional Park in Delta, British Columbia. Cadets got to test their navigation skills in an activity led by the gold star cadets and in an orienteering competition on the final day. Besides learning map and compass, cadets also learned how to build improvised shelters, and how to tie different knots.

Although the weather wasn’t ideal for the first part of the weekend, the sky cleared up just in time for most of our training. Thank you to everyone who participated in this year’s fall FTX. We hope you had fun!

Bravo Zulu, CWO Calvin Adams!

After 7 incredible years with 2290 BCR (101 DCOR) Royal Canadian Army Cadets, Chief Warrant Officer Calvin Adams has officially aged out of the cadet program.

From serving as the Company Sergeant Major of the Parachute Course at Trenton CTC, to excelling in biathlon and leading countless expeditions — Calvin’s dedication, leadership, and passion have left an unforgettable legacy in our corps.

We’re proud to share that he’s continuing his journey of service as an Officer Cadet in the Canadian Armed Forces, and this fall he’ll be attending Queen’s University for Mechanical Engineering under the Regular Officer Training Plan (ROTP).

Thank you for everything, CWO Adams. You’ve inspired many, and your impact at 2290 will be remembered for years to come. Best of luck — the future is yours! 🇨🇦🎓🪂
