O Cônsul Geral participou hoje na abertura das celebrações do Dia de Portugal, de Camões e das Comunidades Portuguesas, realizadas no Centro Cultural Português da Colúmbia Britânica (Portuguese Cultural Centre - PCCBC), em Burnaby.

Felicitações ao PCCBC e a todas as instituições, incluindo a Escola Portuguesa, envolvidas na organização do evento.
Parabéns ainda a todos os voluntários, músicos, ranchos folclóricos, e demais artistas, que contribuem para estas magníficas festividades!

🇨🇦🇨🇦Celebration of Portugal Day at the Portuguese Cultural Center in Burnaby

The Consul General participated today in the opening of the celebrations of the Day of Portugal, Camões and the Portuguese Communities held at the Portuguese Cultural Centre of British Columbia (PCCBC) in Burnaby.

Congratulations to the PCCBC and all the institutions, including the Portuguese School, involved in organizing the event.
Congratulations also to all the volunteers, musicians, folk groups, and other artists who contribute to these magnificent festivities!

🇵🇹 Visita Consular a Edmonton:

O Consulado Geral de Portugal em Vancouver realizou, entre os dias 5-7 de junho, uma visita consular a Edmonton, na Província de Alberta.
O Cônsul Geral encontrou-se com os representantes de todas as associações e instituições portuguesas e entregou as Placas de Mérito atribuídas em Outubro pelo Senhor Secretário de Estado das Comunidades, Dr Emídio Sousa, ao Centro Cultural Português de Edmonton, à Associação Multicultural/PCMS e à Associação Portuguesa da Terceira idade e dos Pioneiros.
No sábado o Cônsul Geral visitou a Escola Portuguesa Gil Vicente e reuniu com o Diretor, Marc Leal, com professores e alunos.
No domingo, visitou a Paróquia de Nossa Senhora de Fátima (Our Lady of Fatima Portuguese Parish Edmonton) e assistiu à missa celebrada pelo Rev. Pe. Márcio Luiz da Costa.
Participou ainda nas celebrações do Dia de Portugal que decorreram no Centro Cultural Português.
Os nossos agradecimentos à Associação Portuguesa da Terceira Idade e dos Pioneiros, por todo o apoio na organização desta permanência consular.
Parabéns também pelo atendimento prestado pelas funcionárias consulares Joana Silva e Lyandra Almeida.

🇨🇦 Consular Outreach Mission to Edmonton:

The Consulate General of Portugal in Vancouver carried out a consular outreach mission to Edmonton, in the Province of Alberta, between 5-7th June.
The Consul General met with representatives of all Portuguese associations and institutions and presented the Merit Plaques awarded in October by the Secretary of State for the Portuguese Communities Abroad, Dr. Emidio de Sousa, to the Portuguese Cultural Center of Edmonton, the Multicultural Association/PCMS, and the Portuguese Seniors and Pioneers Society.
On Saturday, the Consul General visited the Gil Vicente Portuguese School and met with the Director, Marc Leal, teachers, and students.
On Sunday, he visited the Parish of Our Lady of Fatima and attended the mass celebrated by Rev. Fr. Márcio Luiz da Costa.
He also participated in the Portugal Day celebrations that took place at the Portuguese Cultural Center.
Our thanks to the Portuguese Seniors and Pioneers Society for all their support in organizing this consular visit.
Congratulations also to the consular staff members Joana Silva and Lyandra Almeida for their dedicated service.

A eleição reconhece o trabalho da diplomacia portuguesa e a confiança da comunidade internacional no papel de Portugal como promotor do diálogo, da paz e da cooperação entre os povos.
Pela quarta vez na sua história, Portugal terá assento no órgão das Nações Unidas responsável pela manutenção da paz e da segurança internacionais, assumindo uma voz ativa na resposta aos desafios globais do nosso tempo.

Desde 1 de maio de 2026, os pensionistas da Segurança Social portuguesa que residem no Canadá e tenham 66 anos e 9 meses ou mais devem realizar a Prova de Vida obrigatória.

ℹ Prazo: até 15 de setembro de 2026
Caso não seja realizada dentro deste prazo, o pagamento da pensão será suspenso a partir de novembro de 2026, sendo retomado apenas após a entrega de uma prova válida.

🇨🇦 Proof of Life — Portuguese Social Security Pensioners

As of May 1, 2026, Portuguese Social Security pensioners living in Canada and aged 66 years and 9 months or older must complete the mandatory Proof of Life process.

ℹ Deadline: September 15, 2026
Failure to complete the process within this deadline will result in the suspension of pension payments as of November 2026. Payments will only resume once a valid Proof of Life has been submitted.
