Corps de cornemuses du Seaforth Highlanders of Canada Pipes & Drums

Corps de cornemuses du Seaforth Highlanders of Canada Pipes & Drums The Seaforth Highlanders of Canada Pipes and Drums is a reserve band of the Canadian Armed Forces. We are always looking for new members.

The Pipes and Drums of the Seaforth Highlanders of Canada is the oldest continuously active pipe band in BC. Begun shortly after the raising of the regiment in 1910, its first two Pipe Majors were John Gillies and Ed Esson, founding members of the BC Pipers Association. Our role and mission is "to provide musical support for the Regiment, Association and Veterans, to act as custodians of the cultu

ral and Regimental traditions, and to provide a public face for the Seaforth Highlanders and the Canadian Forces in the Lower Mainland." Currently the band numbers about twenty (20) active members, a combination of both serving members (Canadian Armed Forces Reservists whose 'trade' or paid employment is as an infanteer and/or musician) and civilian volunteers (a mix of retired serving members and amateur civilian pipers and drummers). In age we range from early 20's to early 60's with a rather broad range of experience and ability. We perform regularly and frequently at both military and community functions and events.
