Chinatowns are economic engines for cities in Canada and the United States. Consul General Crowley spoke at the opening of the third Chinatown Solidarity Conference, which the U.S. Consulate in Vancouver helped sponsor. The event brought together 65 leaders from 22 Chinatowns across Canada and the United States. “By working together, leaders on both sides of the border can make their communities safer, stronger, and more prosperous to the benefit of people in the United States and in Canada.”

Visa applicants can now view an exhibit celebrating America’s 250th anniversary, as well as the 165 years of a U.S. consular presence in BC, while at the Consulate in Vancouver.  President Lincoln appointed the first U.S. Consul for Victoria in 1861.
