Founded in 1907, The University Women’s Club of Vancouver (UWCV) is a diverse group of women committed to education, action, and fellowship. The UWCV has over 400 members who are graduates from 110 accredited universities worldwide and non-graduates who share the values and goals of the club. The Club is a member of the Canadian Federation of University Women (CFUW) and Graduate Women International (GWI), both organizations that work to advance the human rights of women and girls. Beyond social activities and events, members of UWCV uphold the club’s values through the UWCV Trust Fund for Education, and advocacy and outreach programs that help protect and improve the educational, economic, legal and professional status of women. Through the Hycroft Heritage Preservation Foundation, the UWCV maintains its heritage clubhouse, Hycroft, an Edwardian mansion located in the heart of Shaughnessy in Vancouver, which is open to the public for events throughout the year.
