And our employment program works for Joel. It's gradual and low-barrier and comes with the supports he's needed to get back into the swing of working a few times a week.

Like a lot of participants in Restart, Joel's first experience with homelessness came after losing a job. Now that he's housed in Community Builders supportive housing, he's motivated to get back to work as a way of building independence and stability.

The goal of Restart is to meet our residents where they're at and help them reconnect to the workplace without judgment or stigma.

Way to go, Joel. Keep up the great work.

Thanks to Pêyâkoskan Wellness Collective for serving up these bannock-based tacos to supportive housing residents this week. Meals like this are a chance for folks to eat well while connecting with our Indigenous Wellness program, which offers one-to-one casework, group work and connections to culture and ceremony. 🌮🌮🌮

We were thrilled to welcome to one of our housing sites for the presentation of this humongous cheque. HHTH has been a champion and majority funder of our Counseling Program since 2024.

Receiving the cheque was one of the Registered Counselors we employ through the program to offer free, mobile counseling services and group workshops across Community Builders sites. Counseling can often go overlooked and underfunded as a wraparound support, and we're indebted to the hard-skating fundraisers from for providing this vital service to over 800 residents across our shelters and supportive housing sites. We couldn't do it without you!

Every few months, managers across our housing sites put forward their nominations for team members they see doing great work aligned with our values of compassionate, person-centered care for the folks we house and support.
