On November 27, 2023, The Young Ambassador of Georgia to Canada, Nickolas Imnadze, along with his fellow university classmates, took a trip to Abkhazi Garden located in Victoria, BC.
Abkhazi garden is a botanical garden that is characterized by its majestic rhododendrons, gorgeous ponds, and dramatic rocky landscape. The heritage garden is named after the Georgian nobleman, prince, Nicholas Abkhazi who back in 1946 joined his wife Marjorie "Peggy" Pemberton-Abkhazi in developing their property into a remarkable site that is unique even to Victoria, a city known for its wonderful gardens.
The Young Ambassador introduced his classmates to the beautiful garden along with the history that is imbued in it. From the Georgian "Qvevri" to the various Georgian native species of plants, they have now been introduced to a part of Georgian culture that will be with them for a lifetime. The day consisted of planting different plants, cleaning up the garden and planting two Canadian maple trees that will blossom over the years to come. To end the event, The Young Ambassador donated 1,000 dollars to the garden in the name of the Georgian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
A big thank you to Cherie Miltimore, the site manager and volunteer coordinator, Jacqui, the head gardener of Abkhazi Garden, the whole TLC group, and every single volunteer on the team for their warm hospitality and support. And in the name of every Georgian, the deepest gratitude for their time and effort into making the Garden the magnificent demonstration of beauty that it is today; without all of you, none of this would be possible.
ამა წლის 27 ნობერს, ახალგაზრდა ელჩი კანადაში ნიკოლოზ იმნაძე, თავის უნივერსიტეტის მეგობრებთან ერთად ნიკოლოზ აბხაზის ბაღს ესტუმრენ კუნძულ ვიქტორიაზე, რომელიც კანადაში ბრიტანულ კოლუმბიაში მდებარეობს.
ნიკოლოზ აფხაზის ბაღი- Abkhazi Garden როგორც მას ინგლისურად ეწოდება, ცნობილია თავისი საოცარი მცენარეული საფარით და ჯადოსნური ლენდსქეიფით. ბაღი პრინცი ნიკოლოზ აფხაზის სახელს ატარებს, რომელიც 1946 წელს დასახლდა ამ ადგილას თავის მეუღლესთან “ პეგისთან”ერთად და ბაღის გაშენებას შეუდგნენ. ბაღი გაოცებას იწვევს და გამორჩეულია თვით ვიქტორიაშიაც, ადგილი რომელიც ცნობილია თავისი ბაღებით.
ახალგაზრდა ელჩმა თავის მეგობრებს დაათვალიერებინა ბაღი და გააცნო მდიდარი ისტორია რაც ამ ბაღის უკან დგას; დაწყებული ქართული ქვევივრიდან და დამთავრებული ქართული წარმოშობის მცენარეებით. კანადელი ახალგაზრდები აღფრთოვადნენ მდიდარი ქართული კულტურით და უძველესი ისტორიით.
ნიკოლოზმა და ახალგაზრდებმა მონაწილეობა მიიღეს ბაღის დასუფთავებაში და დარგეს ორი კანადური ნეკერჩხლის ხე რომლებმაც მუდმივი ბინა დაიდეს ნიკოლოზ აფხაზის ბაღში.
გვინდა ასევე ავღნიშნოთ რომ ნიკოლოზ იმნაძემ შეწირულობის სახით 1000 კანადური დოლარი გადასცა ბაღის ადმინისტრაციას საქართველოს საგარეო საქმეთა სამინისტროს სახელით.
თითოეული ქართველის სახელით ურღმესი მადლობა გვინდა მოვახსენოთ ჩერი მილტიმორს-ბაღის მენეჯერს, ჯეკი პაულსონს -მთავარ მებაღეს ,მთელ თიელსი ჯგუფს და თითოეულ მოხალისეს რომელთა დიდი დამსახურებაა რომ ბაღი დღემდე მოვიდა და კიდევ არსებობს.
