On the 78th death anniversary of Quaid-i-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah, the nation pays tribute to its founding father whose unwavering resolve changed the course of history and gave birth to Pakistan.

As Stanley Wolpert aptly said:
“Few individuals significantly alter the course of history. Fewer still modify the map of the world. Hardly anyone can be credited with creating a nation-state. Mohammad Ali Jinnah did all three.”

His enduring legacy continues to inspire us to uphold Unity, Faith, Discipline, and to work towards a strong, peaceful and prosperous Pakistan. 🇵🇰

"On this day we must not forget that the Quaid taught us that durable strength comes from institutions that enjoy public confidence, constitutional continuity and equality before the law.
On this day, we need to realise that no matter what differences and polarisations we might have, our differences must be resolved through constitutional institutions, democratic processes, dialogue and the rule of law." ~ President Asif Ali Zardari Message on the 78th Death Anniversary of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah

Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif’s Message on the 78th Death Anniversary of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah

“Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah was an eminent leader who changed the course of history and, against the most challenging odds, paved the way for the establishment of an independent state for the Muslims of the subcontinent. He inspired the Muslims of the subcontinent with the determination and courage to unite and struggle for the preservation of their religious, cultural and ideological identity. It was through Quaid-e-Azam’s political acumen, foresight and exemplary leadership that the freedom movement advanced successfully, culminating in the realization of the dream of an independent state. Pakistan came into being to safeguard the ideological freedom, political and religious rights, and economic and social advancement of the Muslims of the subcontinent.

Building Pakistan into a developed and welfare state remains the foremost objective of Quaid-e-Azam’s political legacy. The progress, prosperity and welfare of Pakistan can only be achieved through the collective and concerted efforts of the entire nation. This day calls upon us, as a nation, to renew our pledge to remain committed to the guiding principles of Quaid-e-Azam. Our unwavering adherence to his principles of Faith, Unity and Discipline serves as a guiding light for the education and upbringing of future generations and as a beacon for a bright national future.”

Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif's Message on Defence & Martyrs Day

"This day provides us with an opportunity to pay tribute to the martyrs and veterans who made immense sacrifices to safeguard Pakistan’s security, sovereignty and independence. Despite the enemy’s undeclared aggression and numerical superiority on 6 September 1965, the professionalism and operational preparedness of Pakistan’s Armed Forces inflicted a humiliating and resounding defeat upon it on all fronts.

In Marka-e-Haq, in line with the glorious tradition of valiance, our Armed Forces, under the excellent professional strategy of the Chief of the Army Staff & Chief of Defence Forces, Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmad Babar Sidhu and Naval Chief Admiral Naveed Ashraf, delivered a response to our age-old adversary that will be remembered for generations. The entire nation is proud of our brave Pakistan Army, Pakistan Air Force and Pakistan Navy.

The resounding success of Operation Bunyanum Marsoos has added another glorious chapter to our military history. The Government will continue to take resolute measures to strengthen Pakistan’s security, sovereignty and defence, while simultaneously advancing economic development, political stability and public welfare.

The Makkah Joint Defence Agreement is a manifestation of Pakistan’s growing role in regional security and reflects its commitment to collective defence, mutual security and enduring partnerships with brotherly countries. The international community must also recognize that lasting and genuine peace in South Asia cannot be achieved without resolution of the Kashmir issue as per UN Security Council Resolutions and the aspirations of the people of Kashmir. On this historic day, let us renew our commitment to making Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah’s principles of Faith, Unity and Discipline an integral part of our national life. Let us work together to build a strong, prosperous and developed Pakistan.

May Allah Almighty always bless Pakistan with peace, stability and prosperity, and elevate the ranks of our martyrs."
