Please be advised that the flags at Uxbridge Town Hall, the Cenotaph, and the Fire Hall have been lowered to half-mast in recognition of the 25th Anniversary of 9/11.

Today, we pause to remember and honour the innocent lives lost on September 11, 2001, and to recognize the courage and sacrifice of the first responders and all those affected by this tragic day.

Investing in Uxbridge’s Youth! Uxbridge Youth Centre

Today, we’re celebrating a $50,000 investment from the Region of Durham’s Thriving Communities Fund, through the Community Social Investment Program (CSIP), in the Uxbridge Youth Centre.

The funding will support the Youth Centre’s Youth Pathways to Thriving Futures project, expanding programming focused on employment readiness, mental health, food and life skills, and youth leadership — while helping reduce barriers and create more opportunities for local youth.

We were pleased to celebrate this investment alongside Members of Council, the Uxbridge Youth Centre Board of Directors, and, most importantly, the young people who make the Centre such an important part of our community.

Congratulations to the Uxbridge Youth Centre on this well-deserved investment! We look forward to seeing the positive impact this funding will have on youth in Uxbridge.

The Uxbridge Youth Centre is an independent not-for-profit organization and is not operated by the Township of Uxbridge.

A quick reminder about drinking in the park: Don’t get your legislation confused! While Ontario legislation may permit drinking in Provincial Parks, municipally owned parks, such as Elgin Park, follow the Township’s By-law.

That means no drinking in Elgin Park unless otherwise exempted.

So, for this event, enjoy the rides, the food and the fun, just make sure to leave the drinks at home.

See you at the Fair! 🎡
