National Volunteer Week April 19th - April 25th 2026

We round out the week with a small

April 19 – 25 is National Volunteer Week. Halifax Regional Fire & Emergency proudly recognizes the tremendous contributions of our volunteer firefighters. They respond in real time, often putting aside other commitments to care for and support their community in times of need. With every response, our volunteers demonstrate their dedication to public safety while strengthening community trust and resilience. Please exercise extreme caution ⚠️ when burning! Thank you so much in advance from your local First Responders

15:45: Fire crews are currently responding to multiple incidents across the province involving grass and brush fires. Among them is a large grass fire in Camperdown, where Italy Cross Fire is on scene with additional resources responding to assist.

Residents are urged to exercise extreme caution when conducting any outdoor burning. Please use sound judgment and adhere to all applicable regulations to help prevent further incidents.
