Important Fire Ban Update

Effective noon on Thursday, September 3, the BC Wildfire Service Coastal Fire Centre is lifting the Category 1 campfire prohibition across the Fire Centre.

Category 1 means small campfires, no larger than half a metre high by half a metre wide.

Please note:
• Category 2 (backyard burning) and Category 3 (industrial burning) prohibitions remain in place.
• Fireworks, burn barrels, burn cages, binary exploding targets, and controlled air incinerators are still prohibited.
• Conditions can change quickly. Never leave a campfire unattended, keep water nearby, and make sure it is fully out and cold to the touch before you leave.

Report a wildfire: 1-800-663-5555 or *5555 from a cell phone.

ʔuušy̓akšiƛeʔic for continuing to care for our lands.

🚧 Safety Reminder: Barkley FSR Detour 🚧

While work continues on Maggie Forest Service Road, we are asking all drivers to ease off the gas on the Barkley FSR detour.

The speed limit is 40 km/h. Please respect it. Sight lines along the route are minimal, and traffic is heavier than usual.

Slowing down protects everyone sharing the road. Thank you for driving with care.
