Surfs Up is a welcoming and inclusive surfing event hosted in Tofino, BC by SUPA Society. The event invites kids on the autism spectrum and their siblings (ages 7-17 at the time of the event) to participate in a supported surf lesson, and a fun day for the whole family at the beach!

We are stoked to announce that registration to apply will open February 1st, 2026.

Shout out to for the beauty of a poster.

Stay tuned for registration updates.

✨This month we are shining a light on Rachelle Cole.
πŸ€We are so lucky to have Rachelle as a member of our Critical Incident Stress Management Team. She brings a wealth of knowledge and compassion to the team.
πŸš‘With deep roots in Ucluelet, Rachelle is a third-generation community member who is raising a 4th generation! You may know Rachelle as a long time resident or through her role as a highly active Community Paramedic. Her hard work and dedication to the Community Paramedic program since its inception has earned Rachelle the role of Unit Chief for BC Emergency Health Services (BCEHS) Station 134. With a background in firefighting and Heli logging, it is clear Rachelle has always felt a call to duty.
πŸ’ͺNot only does Rachelle work hard she plays hard too! Having retired from competitive body building and no longer interested in cycling, Rachelle now has her sights set on Barrel Racing. But Rachelle professes the best activity during her spare time yet is being a β€œBasketball Mom”!
πŸ—¨Rachelle’s message:
A strong community is built by people who care deeply β€” and I’m grateful every day to be one of them.
🫢Thank you Rachelle for your care and commitment to helping others during times when they need it the most.
πŸ”ΉVolunteers for the Critical Incident Stress Management Team provide debriefing and defusing for individuals that have witnessed a critical incident, such as a death or near-death. Volunteers offer immediate help and resources to support people during a crisis, and teach stress management methods, such as breathing exercises and self-care techniques. For more information, please contact the CISM Coordinator at 250-266-3487 or [email protected].
