Why This Work Matters
Many important life skills aren’t always taught in traditional settings.
Things like cooking meals, managing money, building communication skills, organizing daily routines, and preparing for work can make a huge difference in someone’s confidence and independence.
At Inspiring Potential Services, we focus on helping individuals build these practical skills through supportive learning experiences and hands-on classes.
Our goal is to create opportunities where people can grow in confidence and develop the skills that help them move forward in life.
We know transportation can sometimes be a barrier, so we are also working to support individuals from Summerside and across Western PEI, with transportation options available when needed.

We're excited to share what's been happening at Inspiring Potential Services!

✔️ We are currently accepting new clientele
✔️ Transportation options can be discussed based on individual needs
✔️ We are now offering professional services, including:
• Grant writing
• Research writing
• Project development support

In addition to our ongoing programs, our Executive Director is currently completing professional training through the International Association for Spelling as Communication (I-ASC). This work is separate from our day program but is available to individuals and families interested in learning more.

🎄 Christmas Update from Inspiring Potential Services Inc. 🎄

As the year comes to a close, we want to take a moment to say thank you.

This year has been one of growth, learning, and meaningful moments at Inspiring Potential. We’ve continued to focus on what truly matters—hands-on life skills, confidence-building, communication, and supporting individuals in ways that respect who they are as individuals.

We also shared many fun moments and meaningful experiences this year—often so engaged in the moment that we didn’t always stop to take pictures. Some of the best memories happened quietly, through laughter, learning, and everyday wins that don’t always show up on social media but matter deeply to those involved.

✨ 2025 Highlights Include:

Continued development of Navigating Life’s Journey, with a strong focus on real-world daily living skills

Expanding our vision for future training and transition-style supports

Strengthening community partnerships and family involvement

Ongoing professional development to better support individuals with complex communication needs

We’re excited to share that our IPS Training Kitchen, located at Britannia Hall, is now set up to function like a bachelor-style life skills space while our full Real-Life Skills Mock Apartment is being developed. 💙

This means participants can begin practicing real, everyday skills in a supportive environment, including
🍳 Cooking & meal prep
🧼 Cleaning routines
🗂️ Organization & daily schedules
🏠 Home-care & independence skills

This temporary setup enables individuals to begin building confidence and independence immediately, while we continue to prepare our full mock apartment model.

We love creating hands-on learning opportunities that empower individuals to grow at their own pace—and this is another exciting step forward for our IPS community. 💙✨

🚗 Scenic Adventures: From spontaneous drives to discovering hidden lighthouses, we love exploring our surroundings!
🍳 Cooking Fun: Our kitchen has been buzzing with new recipes and delicious creations.

🌟 We're Back with Exciting News! 🌟
Hello everyone!
We apologize for the delay in updating you, but we've been hard at work revamping our programs to better serve you! We're thrilled to announce our new Life Skills Program, "Navigating Life's Journey: Essential Skills for Every Path." This comprehensive program is designed to empower individuals of all ages (from 16 to 110!) with essential life skills, career readiness, and tools for self-discovery.
Participants will engage in a dynamic curriculum focusing on:
Personal Development: Enhancing emotional intelligence and interpersonal skills.
Career Development: Equipping participants with job readiness skills, including resume writing and interview techniques.
Independent Living Skills: Teaching practical skills such as budgeting, cooking, and home maintenance.
We're also excited to share that transportation may be arranged for those who need it, making it easier for everyone to participate. Additionally, we recognize the importance of providing support for caregivers, which is why we offer day respite services for their loved ones, ensuring they are cared for and engaged while you take a well-deserved break.
