As I said before This man deserves a post all to him self, most of you know him as William Bishop, to us he is Chief, to most of us hes the only chief we have ever known. He has helped to shape us all and guide us into being one of the most efficient and productive fire departments in the province,
After 15+ years as chief of our department, this coming February he will hang up his white helmet, He never likes to take recognition for him self, only serves to help everyone in any way he can. So tonight without his knowledge was about him as he thought it was just to hand out the awards we had missed at the previous supper.
Once he gave his speech and passed out what we had set out for him to pass out, well that's when the real ceremony started by our Deputy Chief Daniel Grigg , getting up and calling William back up to accept his awards which include.
2025- Attendance Award
2025- Firefighter of the Year
2025- Volunteer of the Year.
And also a special gift we had made for him.
The Air bottle in this picture is one of our older tanks, and a high chance its one he actually wore in a fire at some point.
The tank was then sand blasted and painted by Tyler Lynch
Then a design was made and the tank was wrapped by C&R Signs in Summerside.
And the back plate was made beautifully and in a pinch by Jason Perry of JPs Cabinetry
A special shout out to Cory Ford and Prince County trophy. Although the original plan did not work out, we were still able to get it done and look amazing. Not to mention that all of these businesses Donated all their time, work and materials to get this done.
To William,
I speak for us all when I say Thank you for your years and dedication to the role as chief, mentor and friend. We appreciate you more than you know and we all love you.
We hope enjoy the much more relaxing role as a firefighter, and mentor to a future junior firefighter program.
With the utmost respect.
Tyne Valley Fire Department.
