The Truro Police Service Criminal Investigation Division has obtained a warrant for the arrest of Ronald Michael KAZIUK (DOB: 1954-06-28) in connection with multiple fraud offences occurring in Truro between January 13 and January 31, 2026.
Between January 29 and February 10, 2026, the Truro Police Service received several complaints relating to an apartment rental scam involving a property on Minerva Drive in Truro, Nova Scotia. During the investigation, officers spoke with at least eight victims who reported that a male had advertised an apartment for rent on Minerva Drive.
In most cases, victims attended the location to view the apartment, after which funds were transferred, and fraudulent lease agreements were signed. When victims later arrived to move into the apartment, they discovered the unit was not legitimately available for rent and that the suspect had vacated the area and could no longer be contacted.
As a result of the investigation, Ronald KAZIUK has been charged with eight counts of Fraud Under $5,000, contrary to Section 380(1)(b) of the Criminal Code. It is believed that Ronald KAZIUK has fled the province.
Police are asking anyone with information regarding the whereabouts of Ronald KAZIUK to contact the Truro Police Service at 902-895-5351 or Nova Scotia Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
