Hunger Action Month Series: Our Story 🍎📈❄️💝

Hunger affects every part of Ontario, and at Trenton Care & Share, we're seeing more need than ever - a 15% increase in visits from 2024 to 2025! So far in 2026, we've served more than 1,300 people each month, and this fall and winter will be even busier. With back-to-school expenses and the busy holidays, families in our community will rely on supports like us. Thanks to our compassionate donors and 45+dedicated volunteers, we can work toward our mission of increasing access to food, no matter the season!

September is Hunger Action Month! Food bank use in Quinte West continues to rise rapidly, but that's just part of the story. Hunger across Ontario is growing - and public policies drive the root causes. These policies impact individuals and families- our friends and neighbours- who are struggling to make ends meet. Learning the connections between policy, poverty, and hunger is the first step towards lasting change.

Thank you to The Kibble Project for this amazing donation of pet food and to Animal Rescue Krew-ARK for your help in making it happen! The impact these donations have on families in Quinte West is immense, and we couldn't be more grateful to be a part of it. Food is a right for everyone, including our four-legged friends 🐾

Twice already this season Willow Creek Farms Frankford, Ont. has donated their asparagus, for a total of 550lb! We are incredibly grateful to be able to offer fresh, locally-grown produce to support our community. We were also able to share with Gleaners Belleville and Peer Support to help achieve our shared goal: keeping our communities fed.
