⚾ Community Impact: Trail Little League

When our community comes together, great things happen. ❤️🧡

The Trail Firefighters Charitable Society is proud to support local organizations and initiatives that make a lasting difference in our community. Through volunteer efforts with Trail Little League, our members have helped with improvements at Andy Bilesky Park, including the new backstop concrete wall, and the framing, sheeting and interior finish on the new building behind home plate.

It’s one more example of how your support of the firefighters’ charitable efforts comes back to our community — helping create better spaces for local families, players and organizations.

A look back at firefighting in Trail.

This historic photo shows firefighters using hoses to battle a blaze at Hunt’s Department Store on Bay Avenue, which burned in 1928.

Nearly a century later, the equipment may have changed, but the work remains the same: firefighters answering the call and protecting our community.

The work we do doesn’t stop at the fire hall. Every week, we’ll be highlighting an organization or community project supported by the Trail Firefighters Charitable Society.

Through the Trail Firefighters 50/50, funds raised help us support organizations doing meaningful work in our community and beyond.

This week, we’re proud to highlight our long-standing support of the BC Professional Fire Fighters Burn Fund. For more than 17 years, the Trail Firefighters Charitable Society has donated an incredible $112,992 to the Burn Fund through our fundraising efforts. 🧡

That’s more than $112,000 helping support burn survivors and their families — and it’s something our firefighters and our community can be proud of.

🔥 IF A FIRE STARTS, KNOW WHAT TO DO 🚒

A fire can spread incredibly quickly. If you discover a fire:

🚪 Get out immediately. Don’t stop to grab valuables.

⬇️ Stay low if there’s smoke. Smoke rises, so cleaner air may be closer to the floor.

✋ Check doors before opening them. If a door feels hot, don’t open it. Find another way out.

📞 Call 911 once you’re safely outside.

🏠 Stay outside. Never go back into a burning building — even if you think someone or something is still inside.

Your first priority is simple: GET OUT. STAY OUT.

🚒 Leave the firefighting to the firefighters.
