We are excited to welcome Alexander Papadopoulos as a presenter at Synapantema 2026. Alexander is a master carpenter whose connection to his Pontian roots has been shaped by the music, dance & traditions of his ancestors.
Although deaf, Alexander grew up feeling the vibrations of the Lyra and witnessing the powerful stories told through Pontian music and dance. Inspired by generations of musicians in his family and his love for traditions like the Serra, he combined his craftsmanship with his passion for preserving our heritage by handcrafting Pontian Lyras.
Alexander’s story is a powerful reminder to our youth that preserving our culture is not limited to one path—each of us can contribute our unique talents to keep our traditions alive. At our Synapantema Youth Workshops, Alexander will share his journey, demonstrate his craft, and inspire the next generation to embrace and preserve their Pontian heritage.
Με μεγάλη χαρά ανακοινώνουμε την συμμετοχή του Αλέξανδρο Παπαδόπουλο στο Συναπάντεμα 2026, έναν καταξιωμένο ξυλουργό, του οποίου η σύνδεση με τις ποντιακές του ρίζες έχει διαμορφωθεί μέσα από τη μουσική, τον χορό και τις παραδόσεις των προγόνων του.
Παρόλο που είναι κωφός, ο Αλέξανδρος μεγάλωσε νιώθοντας τις δονήσεις της λύρας και βιώνοντας τη δύναμη των ιστοριών που αφηγούνται η ποντιακή μουσική και οι χοροί. Εμπνευσμένος από τις γενιές μουσικών της οικογένειάς του και από την αγάπη του για παραδόσεις όπως η Σέρρα, συνδύασε τη δεξιοτεχνία του με το πάθος του για τη διατήρηση της πολιτιστικής μας κληρονομιάς, κατασκευάζοντας χειροποίητες ποντιακές λύρες.
Μέσα από το έργο του, συμβάλλει ουσιαστικά στη διατήρηση και τη συνέχιση της ποντιακής παράδοσης για τις επόμενες γενιές.
