During a tornado, the safest place to shelter is the lowest possible level indoors.

🟧 Environment Canada has issued an Orange Level - Severe

Thunderstorm Watch for Southern Peterborough County, and a Yellow Level alert for Northern Peterborough County, this afternoon and evening. Utility outages are possible, and strong winds may cause damage to trees, buildings, and property.

⚠️ Possible Hazards
Damaging wind gusts over 110 km/h
Quarter to ping pong ball-sized hail
Heavy rainfall up to 50 mm in a short period
Risk of a tornado

✅ Be Prepared
Secure outdoor furniture and loose items.
Charge cell phones, power banks, and essential devices.
Have flashlights, batteries, and emergency supplies ready.
Avoid unnecessary travel during severe weather.
