Big news for Hong Kong! Hong Kong has just been ranked the #1 cross-boundary wealth management centre in the world. According to the Global Wealth Report 2026 released by Boston Consulting Group on May 27, Hong Kong tops the global rankings for cross-boundary wealth management. But that’s not all – the report also projects that the cross-boundary wealth managed by Hong Kong will grow at an average annual rate of 9% from 2025 to 2030, keeping its lead globally.

A strong vote of confidence in Hong Kong’s position as a world-leading cross-boundary wealth management hub.

【HKMA rolls out CargoX pilots program to digitalize trade finance – aims to help SMEs tackle growing complexity in global trade】
The Hong Kong Monetary Authority (HKMA) has announced the launch of the Project Pilot Scheme, which will explore with 21 banks how to use logistics and trade data to enhance SMEs' access to trade finance. The project is centered on the business data infrastructure, aimed at breaking the traditional financing pain point and helping banks to make more accurate credit assessment through the deep integration of freight logistics and capital flow data.
The plan will focus on four major areas this year and next, including connecting major trade data platforms, applying digital corporate identity to enhance data sharing and trust, and enhancing connectivity with major trade corridors. Deputy Chief Executive of the Hong Kong Monetary Authority, Howard Li, said that turning the recommendations into practical actions can promote the digitalization of finance and better serve the real economy. These initiatives not only enhance the efficiency of small and medium-sized businesses, but also strengthen Hong Kong's position as the world's leading hub for trade and trade finance, opening up more possibilities for import and export.
