Christie Ossington Neighbourhood Centre Shelter & Housing

With a nightly capacity of 98, between two locations, we have provided shelter and assistance for more than 1,290 men per year.

The Christie Ossington Neighbourhood Centre's Shelter & Housing Program provides overnight shelter, support, meals and programming to homeless individuals in Toronto’s west end. The Men’s Hostel Program provides overnight shelter and supports the well-being of men in the Christie Ossington Community who are homeless, street-oriented and facing mental health issues, addictions, unemployment and oth

er barriers to maintaining adequate housing. Men arrive at the hostel in the midst of extremely difficult life circumstances, coping with newcomer and refugee displacement issues, mental health issues, inadequate health care, recent release from detox and other treatment centres, lack of education and employable skills among other circumstances. Many arrive with little hope of finding the stable, safe employment they need to lead healthy, productive lives.

Last Friday, in collaboration with Madison and Mainstay, we hosted a special Thanksgiving Lunch for our clients at 1011 Lansdowne – Supportive Housing.

Clients enjoyed a warm and hearty meal featuring turkey, corn, salad, ham, potatoes, and chilli, followed by sweet treats like tartare and cake. The atmosphere was filled with gratitude and a sense of community spirit.

We extend our heartfelt thanks to everyone who generously donated and helped make this celebration possible. Your support made a meaningful difference in the lives of our clients.

Harvest, Farmers & Cowboy BBQ at 973 Lansdowne!

We hosted a fantastic Harvest Cowboy BBQ, celebrating food and community spirit! Clients, staff, and community police officers arrived in their best cowboy outfits, creating an energetic atmosphere.

The space was beautifully decorated like a fall country fair, and we even had a surprise visit from the Toronto Police Horses, which was a hit!

Housing Team Workshop at Roncesvalles was a tremendous success!

Our clients were fully immersed in creating their Vision Board Roadmaps to A New Beginning, an inspiring activity that blended creativity with deep reflection. From tapping into their inner child to thoughtfully mapping out future goals, participants walked away with renewed motivation and a clearer sense of direction.

Lansdowne Community BBQ!!

Our July BBQ was a day to remember!

Residents came out to soak up the sunshine, enjoy mouthwatering food, and truly live in the moment. The grills were going strong with juicy burgers, sizzling hot dogs, and plenty of tasty sides.

There were refreshing drinks, sweet treats, and even fresh fruit to keep everyone calm and satisfied. We had a blast with lawn games, friendly competitions, and lots of laughter.

Best of all? The sense of togetherness. Surrounded by great company and a welcoming atmosphere, it was a perfect reminder of what makes our community so special. Thank you to everyone who helped make the event such a success, we’re already looking forward to the next one!

Community, Connection, and Chicken: Thank You, Mary Brown’s

At CONC, our mission is to uplift and unite the community. This came to life on June 25, 2025, during our 4th Annual Soccer Tournament, showcasing the power of generosity and togetherness.

We extend a heartfelt thank you to Mary Brown’s Chicken at 2151 St. Clair Ave. W, Toronto, for their generous food donation. Their support not only fed over 150 participants and volunteers but also nourished our community spirit.

Canada Day Celebration at Rexdale Shelter!

We had a fantastic BBQ day yesterday at Rexdale Shelter! Residents gathered to enjoy delicious BBQ, tasty snacks, fun games, and plenty of exciting prizes. The energy was high, and the sense of community was stronger than ever.

A huge thank you to everyone who helped make the day memorable, from the Loft Kitchen Team to the staff, and to every resident who participated in the fun.

Events like this remind us of the power of connection and community.
