Join Humber's Indigenous Education & Engagement, Office of Sustainability, and LGBTQ+ Resource Centre for the annual Medicine Garden Opening event!

This year, we will be honouring National Indigenous History Month and Pride Month as we plant and sacred medicines of the Indigenous Medicine Garden at Humber. Located in the Humber Arboretum, this garden is a living tribute to Indigenous traditions, featuring the four sacred medicines: to***co (Asemaa), sage (Muskodaywushk), sweetgrass (Weengushk), and cedar (Geezhig).

This planting event is an opportunity to learn, reflect on the teachings of the land, and contribute to the growth of this important cultural space. All members of the Humber community are welcome to participate and learn more about the significance of the Medicine Garden.

Please wear comfortable clothing suitable for outdoor activities. We will celebrate with a BBQ after the planting.

Day 2 of the imagine NATIVE Film + Media Arts Festival was an inspiring experience for IE&E staff, students, and alumni! 🎬✨

Together, we attended the Short Film Program: What’s to Come and River of Spirits, celebrating Indigenous storytelling, creativity, and perspectives on screen.

Thank you to everyone who joined us as we connected through film, community, and culture. We’re looking forward to more festival screenings and conversations ahead!

Safe Food Handlers Workshop 🧑‍🍳🍽️✨

Yesterday, four Humber students joined IE&E to complete the Safe Food Handlers Workshop and we all officially received our certificates! 🎉

A huge thank you to Miziwe Biik Aboriginal Employment and Training for the incredible work they continue to do in supporting Indigenous students and community members through training, education, employment supports, and community programming. Opportunities like this help students gain practical skills, build confidence, and create pathways toward future employment and growth within our communities.
