The Health Studies Students' Union at the University of Toronto organizes social activities and academic seminars, as well as provides resources and assists students with academic concerns. We are committed to building connections between students interested in health and enriching the experience of the students in our program. We hope to facilitate an open environment in which students can partic

ipate in an ongoing dialogue about the socioeconomic, political, cultural and biomedical determinants of health and healthcare systems.

After a 3 year in-person absence, the HSSU would like to thank everyone who attended our academic seminar on Monday! 🤗

Thank you to Dr. Brown for consistently delivering an engaging and entertaining lecture, which foreshadowed a phenomenal Q&A session. His expertise, commitment, and unwavering support for the Health Studies program and HSSU inspire us all 🥹

The HSSU's Fall 2022 Academic Seminar is here! 📢 This year's topic is "Challenges of Politics and Policies Throughout the COVID-19 Pandemic."

We will be joined by the Dean of the Dalla Lana School of Public Health and fellow Health Studies Professor, Dr. Adalsteinn Brown. He will discuss the challenges of moving evidence into policy during crises like the COVID-19 pandemic and other periods of time. Following his lecture, attendees will be allowed to participate in a Q&A with Dr. Brown. 🙋

The HSSU Fall General Meeting will be taking place tomorrow at the Senior Common Room from 3-5PM 😎 Both the HSSU and Health Studies Program Director, Dr. Michael Widener will be in attendance.

The meeting serves as an opportunity for students to ask questions or concerns regarding academics and student life! 🤠

His talk will explore the stigmatizing attitudes in health care and other institutions that reflect larger social problems and overexpose Black communities to risk.

Hello everyone!

Thank you to everyone who has placed an order for our sweaters! They just arrived today, and we are ready to have people pick them up from our office in University College (Room B204).

The total cost of each hoodie came out to $34.90, which was cheaper than we expected! Upon picking up the hoodie, you will be asked to complete an e-transfer for the remaining cost of the hoodie, which is $14.90. The e-transfer will be sent to the same email again ([email protected]). We will not be accepting cash.

We have set aside 5 days when you can pick up your hoodie from our office. Please indicate which day you will be picking up your hoodie on this form. If you have a conflict with these dates, please reach out to Sobhneek directly ([email protected]) to arrange an alternative pick-up time.
