As the month of July comes to a close, we reflect on an unforgettable celebration as The Bahamas officially took over the 6ix for our 53rd Independence Celebrations!

From our inspiring Flag Raising Ceremony to our elegant Independence Cocktail Reception, we were proud to celebrate our culture, heritage, and Bahamian pride with friends and family from across Canada.

A heartfelt THANK YOU to everyone who travelled from near and far to celebrate with us. Your energy, love, and unwavering support made this year's celebrations truly special.

Together, we proudly waved our flag, honored our heritage, and reminded everyone that it's always Better in The Bahamas!

To everyone who came out, competed, cheered, laughed, and celebrated with us,THANK YOU! Your energy and Bahamian pride made this event truly unforgettable.

We would also like to extend our gratitude to the Bahamas High Commission – Ottawa, proud sponsor of this year's Bahamas Games.

A very special thank you to Consul General, the Hon. Clayton Fernander and Team for his gracious contribution, unwavering support, and commitment to helping make this year's Games a tremendous success.

A huge shoutout to our incredible vendors for helping create an authentic taste of home! Thank you for serving up delicious food, mouthwatering sweet treats, genuine Bahamian cuisine, and amazing Bahamian swag!

Planning on attending the Bahamas 53rd Independence Flag Raising Ceremony?

Please read the following important instructions before you arrive:

⚠️ All attendees MUST first go through the City of Toronto's security screening at Toronto City Hall before entering the Flag Raising Ceremony.

To help make the process smooth:
✅ Arrive early to allow enough time for security screening.
✅ Have any bags ready for inspection.
✅ Follow all directions provided by City Hall security personnel.
