IMPACT n’ Communities is a not for profit community development and engagement organization that is steadily working to improve communities across the GTA. We facilitate positive progressive community enhancement initiatives, events, programs and services that work towards impactful transf
ormation and an overall improved quality of life. We are based in the Kingston / Galloway, Orton Park priority neighborhoods of East Scarborough where our positive programs and services assist residents that have been stricken by the ill effects of social injustice and other adverse social determents on their quality of life. Although we offer many essential programs our specialized focus is in the area of youth services called IMPACT n’ Youth. IMPACT n’ Youth program was developed to give youth a positive, safe place where they can access a wide range of valuable programs, services and resources in the areas of leadership, life skills, arts, academics, athletics, recreation, violence intervention, pre-employment, mental and physical health. IMPACT n’ Youth is an exceptionally rewarding, platform for youth to affect positive change in their lives and community. Through IMPACT n’ Youth’s holistic capacity building programs and services, participants develop pro-social and life skills while engaging a wide variety of fun participatory activities and valuable experiences. The impactful experience offers the tools necessary to aid the positive transition between adolescence and adulthood. IMPACT n’ Communities offers various impactful programs throughout the week. Our programs are provided to youth FREE of cost and also include a nutritious meal and beverage. On March 23, 2012, IMPACT n’ Communities launched their first program, IMPACT n’ Youth. This pilot project was launched in the Kingston / Galloway neighbourhood in collaboration with TCHC at 4301 Kingston Road. The project was intended to offer programs and service to the At-Risk youth in this underserved community. Described as a place where: “youth could come and have fun while learning about life, yourself and how to handle things better. A place where you could come and chill, connect with good people and real staff who could relate to what you’re going through!”
IMPACT Youth Program, imparts leadership, life skills, arts, academics, athletics, recreation and violence prevention. We build and develop your talents even the talents you didn’t even know you had! Some more of our programs include:

community/volunteer hours

IMPACT n’ Communities engages and develops people while promoting healthy lifestyles. This is represented in our chi gong health classes for families. As well, the IMPACT n’ Youth program on Fridays and has over 60 participants on a regular basis. Since commencing, IMPACT Communities has served over 1000. Since February, our Pre-Employment services have directly helped over 70 youth find employment, get job interviews, build resumes and gain interview skills. In addition, we have directly delivered information on employment opportunities with over 200 postings to over a 1000 young people through social media. Furthermore, we have engaged tenants and residents in the community by enlisting the help of over 30 separate adult volunteers since programs have begun. IMPACT n’ Communities is thus far produced entirely through volunteerism and donations. In the fall of 2012, we look forward to maintaining our existing programs as well as adding new programs such as Socacize, homework club and a women’s and men’s healing group...
