Yesterday was a busy one for B-shift, with three multiple alarm fires throughout the day in the city. Support 7 was requested on Brigadoon Crescent for a second alarm house fire, refueling crews while they completed extensive overhaul of the home.

Last night, Platoon Chief Randy Smith (C20) was granted an honourary membership with the GTMAA. Randy has been dedicated to the city and fire service for decades at the highest of standards, and has always been a great supporter of the buffing community. Toronto Fire crews responded to a commercial fire at the Scarborough Transfer Station, where a stubborn garbage fire kept crews busy well into the night.

Firefighters had to relay water from the street through multiple pumpers to reach the seat of the blaze.

Support 7 was on scene providing rehab and support to the crews working tirelessly through challenging conditions.

Toronto Fire Services crews responded to a 2nd alarm fire on Gleneagle Crescent. Upon arrival, firefighters were met with heavy flames originating from a garage area that had already extended to a neighbouring residence.

Two homes sustained fire damage. There were no injuries reported.

Toronto Fire Services Support 7 was on scene, providing canteen and rehabilitation services to firefighters.

Just before 6 p.m., a blaze broke out at a residence on Yardley Avenue in the Topham Park neighbourhood near Victoria Park and St. Clair avenues.

The fire was quickly upgraded to a two-alarm response as heavy smoke and flames spread to a neighbouring home. A vehicle parked in the driveway was also engulfed. Several nearby homes were evacuated as a precaution.

Toronto Fire reports that there were no occupants inside either of the affected homes, and no injuries have been reported. Crews remain on scene monitoring for hot spots.
