Today is International Day Against Homophobia, Biphobia, and Transphobia (IDAHOBIT)!

The theme for IDAHOBIT this year is “At the heart of democracy.” This theme reminds us that “truly democratic societies must be rich in meaningful equity and justice for all.”

Increasingly intolerant attitudes and harmful legislation are threatening the rights, safety and dignity of 2SLGBTQIA+ people around the world. IDAHOBIT reminds us of the importance of challenging hate in all its forms and upholding the value of equal rights for all. We support our 2SLGBTQIA+ community members and their families and allies as we fight for a truly equal society across Canada.

💐🪻Happy Mother’s Day to all the amazing mums in our Toronto Pflag family! 🪷💐You deserve to be celebrated for the love and empathy that upholds your families, and that you have shared generously with Pflag over the years.

We should also acknowledge that these holidays can also be difficult for others, and we see you too. Whatever the circumstances are, know that you have the love and support of your Toronto Pflag family.

However you spend the day, I hope you find peace and contentment.

Happy Chosen Family Day 🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍⚧️

Family isn’t just something we’re born into it’s something we build. Chosen family is about the people who stand by us, uplift us, and love us for exactly who we are. On Chosen Family Day, we celebrate the deep, meaningful bonds that go beyond biology, the friendships, communities, and connections that become home.

For many in the 2SLGBTQI+ community, chosen family is a source of strength, support, and unconditional love. It’s the people who show up, create safe spaces, and remind us that we are never alone.

To every chosen family member, thank you. Your love, support, and presence change lives. You are proof that love always wins.
