BEWARE OF TAXI SCAMS!
Toronto residents, please stay alert and protect yourself from taxi-related scams. Scammers may use distraction tactics and pressure you into paying for someone else’s fare or handing over your bank card.
Here are some important safety tips:
Never pay taxi fares for strangers. You are not responsible for someone else’s fare.
Remember, licensed taxis accept cash payments.
Never let anyone take your bank card out of your sight. Always keep your card in your possession when making a payment.
Stay alert to distractions. Scammers may try to divert your attention while taking advantage of you.
Ask to see the taxi driver’s licence before beginning your trip. Your safety matters!
Share these tips with family, friends and neighbours. A little awareness can go a long way in preventing fraud and protecting our community.

Stronger Partnerships. Safer Communities.
DSC Taylor had the opportunity to attend the CPC Conference at the Toronto Police College!
The conference was a great opportunity to learn about innovative safety and security solutions while building meaningful connections and strengthening collaboration with members of the Toronto Police Service, Community Policing Liaison Committee (CPLC), Community Consultative Community (CCC), and local community organizations.
By sharing knowledge, exchanging ideas, and working together, we continue to strengthen community partnerships and support safer, more connected neighborhoods.

DSC Taylor and PC Moore attended Brookview Middle School to deliver an educational presentation to Grade 7 and Grade 8 students on pantsing and the importance of respecting personal boundaries.
The presentation focused on raising awareness about the impact of this behavior, encouraging students to make positive choices, and reinforcing the importance of treating one another with dignity and respect.
Through ongoing school engagement and education, 31 Division remains committed to supporting safe, respectful, and inclusive learning environments for all students.
Thank you to Brookview Middle School for welcoming us and partnering with 31 Division to help keep our youth safe.

AUTO THEFT PREVENTION TIPS
Protect Your Vehicle. Protect Your Property.
As temperatures drop and shopping activity increases, it is important to remain vigilant and take steps to protect your vehicle from theft and break-ins.
Here are some simple ways to help keep your vehicle safe:
Lock it up! Always roll up your windows, lock your doors, and take your keys with you.
Never leave your vehicle running unattended, even for a short period.
Use your garage. If you have one, park inside and lock both your garage door and your vehicle.
Keep your keys secure. Never leave your car keys in plain sight or in an easily accessible location.
Protect your documents. Keep your vehicle registration and proof of insurance with you when practical, rather than leaving them in your glove compartment.
Choose your parking spot wisely. Whenever possible, park in a well-lit, visible area.
Keep valuables out of sight. Never leave shopping bags, packages, electronics, or other valuable items visible inside your vehicle.
A few simple precautions can make a big difference! Stay alert, secure your vehicle, and help prevent auto theft and vehicle break-ins in our community.
