Several workers have been collectively owed wages by the same restaurant owner. We plan to hold a group phone call to demand our unpaid wages NEXT Wednesday (September 9th) from 6:00 PM to 7:30 PM. The event will be on Zoom!
Zoom!

During the call, workers will talk about the wages owed to them and share more information about the restaurant and owner. We will conduct a PHONE ZAP to CALL OUT the owner and show him that these workers ARE NOT ALONE!

Please RSVP, DM, EMAIL if interested!

We are joining 250+ labour, civil liberties, faith, climate, migrant, refugee, human rights and community organizations across Canada to stand with international students from Portage College and defend migrants’ right to protest without fear.

On August 12, Calgary Police called the Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) to their protest. CBSA checked protesters’ immigration status. Ten people were issued removal orders that same day.

The students spoke out because they had been treated unfairly. They should have received justice. Instead, they faced immigration enforcement.

What happened in Calgary affects us all. Our movements include migrants.

Migrant workers must be able to walk a picket line. International students must be able to protest government policy. Refugees and undocumented people must be able to speak out and organize.

Join us. Sign the petition, add your name to the open letter, read and share the Know Your Rights guide, support the students' legal fight

A Chinese boss promised to pay wages in writing, but disappeared 7 days later?

Unpaid wages are not a matter of "business difficulties and mutual understanding"; in Ontario, this is a VIOLATION of the Employment Standards Act.

Supporting them today means that when it's your turn tomorrow, someone will support you.

If you've also experienced wage theft in Newmarket/Vaughan OR if you want to help these workers, LEAVE A COMMENT
