Illiteracy is a barrier, but it doesn’t have to be our children’s future. This Black History Month, join us online via Zoom for the Literacy is Power Summit—a crucial event addressing the literacy crisis impacting Black children.
Did you know that many Black children are entering school already behind in reading? Without intervention, they fall further behind every year, facing a future filled with frustration, limited opportunities, and unmet potential.
We believe every Black child deserves the chance to read, succeed, and thrive. That’s why, in partnership with Knyabi Innovative Learners, we are hosting this summit to confront the barriers to literacy head-on and offer real solutions that can change lives.
Key Points to be Discussed:
Barriers to Literacy: Discover why so many Black children are struggling with reading, and how these struggles impact their academic success and overall future.
Effective Strategies: Learn from experts about the most effective ways to support struggling readers and help them catch up to grade level.
Hope & Action: Be empowered with practical tools, resources, and guidance to help break the cycle of illiteracy for our children.
Learn how to leverage community resources and support networks:
Understanding, navigating, and taking advantage of programs available (eg. IEP).
Your child’s future depends on it. This summit is not just about talking—it’s about taking action. Parents and guardians, this is your chance to gain valuable insights, connect with experts, and become part of the solution.
