La rentrée, le début de nouvelles possibilités

Nous souhaitons aux élèves une année remplie de curiosité, de découvertes et de belles rencontres.

Et aux membres du personnel enseignant et scolaire qui rendent tout cela possible : merci. De nombreux membres d’Entente Éducation Canada font toujours partie du milieu de l’éducation, tandis que d’autres connaissent bien l’effervescence de la rentrée après des années passées dans les écoles et les salles de classe.

The Government of Newfoundland and Labrador wants your input on its Poverty Reduction and Prevention Strategy, a 10-year plan aimed at achieving the lowest poverty rate in Canada by 2036.

This engagement builds on ongoing conversations with community groups, service providers, Indigenous governments, and people with lived experience of poverty, to help shape priorities and long-term solutions that reflect real needs across the province.

Cette consultation s'appuie sur les discussions en cours avec les groupes communautaires, les fournisseurs de services, les gouvernements et organisations autochtones, ainsi que les personnes ayant vécu la pauvreté, afin d'orienter les priorités et les solutions à long terme qui reflètent les besoins réels de la province.

A big thank you to everyone who joined us for Summer Fête.

This year, our Caribbean cookout brought together members of our local community, partners and friends to share a lunch and cool off with a visit to the ice cream truck.

A special thank you to Native Canadian Centre of Toronto for collaborating with us to host this community event.

Un grand merci à toutes les personnes qui se sont jointes à nous pour notre Fête d’été.

Cette année, notre BBQ aux saveurs des Caraïbes a réuni des membres de la communauté, des partenaires et des amis autour d’un repas et d’une rafraîchissante crème glacée.

Un merci tout spécial au Native Canadian Centre of Toronto pour sa collaboration dans l’organisation de cet événement.

The cost of living continues to put pressure on older adults across Canada. The price of everyday essentials remains significantly higher than it was just a few years ago, making it increasingly difficult for many people living on fixed incomes to make ends meet.

This challenge extends beyond the grocery store. Many older adults, including those living in retirement residences, are also experiencing higher food costs alongside rising housing and health care expenses.

Food security is not a stand-alone issue. It is closely connected to income security, affordable housing, access to health care, and the overall cost of living.

Entente Education Canada calls on governments to adopt a comprehensive strategy for older adults that addresses these interconnected challenges and helps ensure everyone can age with financial security.

The experiences our members share help strengthen our advocacy and shape the solutions we bring forward. Thank you to everyone who continues to speak up about the issues affecting older adults across Canada.
