Scarborough Women's Centre empowers women to become economically and emotionally independent and free from violence.

A resource centre for women, Scarborough Women's Centre provides information, education and support services to assist women in transition to economic and emotional independence. With these supports they can build brighter futures for themselves and their families. Our vision is to empower diverse women and let them know that they are not alone.

There's still time to RSVP to our ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING! We've extended the RSVP deadline to Tuesday, September 15th! RSVP today!

The Centre will be celebrating our 44th year of service and recognizing our outgoing Executive Director for her part in supporting women to build brighter futures for themselves and their families.

The meeting will be held on Thursday, September 17th from 6:30 to 8:00 PM in Committee Rooms 1 & 2 of the Scarborough Civic Centre (150 Borough Drive).

The accessible entrance to the Scarborough Civic Centre is located just west of the public library. Metered parking available on the street and in the lot at 158 Borough Drive. Closest TTC stop is located along Ellesmere Road at Borough Approach East.

6:55 PM - Executive Director's report on achievements in 2025-26
7:05 PM - Volunteer Recognition
7:10 PM - Introduction of our new Executive Director
7:15 PM - My Journey* presentation by Lynda Kosowan, retiring Executive Director
7:45 PM - Light refreshments and networking

*After many years of dedicated service, Executive Director, Lynda Kosowan, has announced her retirement and will be stepping away from her role in Fall 2026. For the past 40 years, Lynda has played a vital role in shaping the Centre into what it is today. From strengthening programs to expanding community partnerships, she has advanced the Centre's mission to support tens of thousands of women across Scarborough.

IN-PERSON WORKSHOP FOR SENIOR WOMEN 55+:
Digital Literacy
In this workshop, participants will learn that digital literacy is a life skill. Participants will learn more about cyber security, explore potential solutions to barriers, and learn strategies to promote safety during online shopping.

Time: 10:30 am - 12:30 pm
Location: Scarborough Women's Centre (2100 Ellesmere Road., Suite 245)
