Last Thursday we came together with JVS Toronto , Lily Cheng, City Councillor of Willowdale and the North York Cluster to host a Willowdale Youth Job Fair! We’ve heard from so many neighbours, volunteers and clients about how hard it can be to enter the job force or for those under 30 to find that next job and so we wanted to do something about it!

We were blown away by the turn out! Nearly 600 people showed up to Mitchell Field Community Centre for the event! Job seekers had the chance to connect directly with over 20 employers, explore opportunities, and access employment supports from local community organizations. They also participated in mock interviews, resume-building workshops and LinkedIn prep.

We’re grateful to our partners who helped us put this together, all the volunteers and everyone who attended!

We had a very special evening filled with music and dance at Willowdale Manor last week. Sara from Sara Dance Academy visited and had the whole place moving and singing.

The focus this evening was on Persian music and dance, and Sara had all the residents involved. Whether they stayed in their seats and moved to the music, or came up to join in on the dance floor, everyone had a smile on their face. Many residents sang along while they danced, creating a joyful, party atmosphere.

A big thank you to Sara for making the evening special for so many residents. We hope to see her again soon!

Are you an older adult experiencing issues with an electronic device or know someone who is? We're here to support! Our next Tech & Tea Session is on Monday, June 22nd from 3:00 PM-5:30 PM at Willowdale Manor (175 Cu**er Ave)! This event is open to residents across the neighbourhood! No registration required! We hope you’ll join us for tech support, games, tea, snacks, and conversation!

We're excited to welcome volunteers from Best Buy Richmond Hill to provide help with basic tech issues to seniors

Congratulations to Paul for being selected as our Volunteer of the Month! Paul joined the team in December 2025 and quickly became a key volunteer at our food distributions and seniors program!

Paul reflected, "I moved to Canada last November, and I started volunteering with NeighbourLink to learn more about the social service field here.
At first, I struggled a bit because of my English, but the other volunteers and staff were so helpful. Thanks to their support, my English has improved, and I've become much more confident in my work. It’s so rewarding to know that my small efforts can give someone a boost, and I always feel happy while volunteering because everyone at NeighbourLink is so warm and kind.
Although I participated as a service provider, I actually received so much help from my fellow volunteers and staff whenever I faced challenges. Through this, I truly felt the heart of your slogan, 'Neighbours helping neighbours.' Thank you so much for naming me 'Volunteer of the Month.' I’m truly grateful and look forward to continuing to do my part in building a community where we all look out for one another.”

Paul takes on every task earnestly, with a passion to serve this community and a big smile on his face! Although Paul only arrived in Canada a short time ago, he has settled in quickly on the volunteer team and community, bringing a warm and neighbourly presence to all events and programming. Paul studied Social Work in South Korea and is striving to build a career where he can more effectively serve our community.

Paul's passion for serving our community is truly inspiring, and we look forward to continue serving together!

What a delicious weekend it was. 🍴💛
The hardest part of Taste of North York wasn’t finding something delicious to eat…
